Breathwork can get you past your past

This is an EXTREMELY sensitive subject but it’s important to share. I have been facilitating breathwork classes since 2021 and have gotten good number of private testimonials about assault and how breathwork gave reprieve.

Please note, I am NOT an expert in this field nor do I give advice but I do give space.  The beautiful thing about breathwork, it’s you healing you. As in this video and completely unsolicited, the crippling fear of her assault is gone after one private breathwork session at the park.

Here are two more testimonials that make breathwork a great tool in helping with assault victims. After a breathwork session, a women sent me a text saying she was raped when she was 12. She couldn’t talk about this experience to her therapist for it was too triggering. In her breathwork session she went back to the actual assault which surprisingly she didn’t have the urge to disassociate. Additionally, in her breathwork journey, she was able to talk to her 12 year old self.  “…keep breathing, relax her body and whatever she is feeling not to hold on to it.” In breathwork, at times, I will touch your shoulder then your belly to make sure your breathing correctly. In this case, I didn’t realize I was also a security blanket. She can now speak about this experience with her therapist and that is a major breath through.

This next testimonial is from a male who in his breathwork journey offered forgiveness to his father for assaulting him as a child. This heavy weight was lifted in breathwork and that brought him tears of joy. He shared “ the duality of simultaneous feelings…one of physical pleasure contrasted with the feelings of shame was unbearable for years”.

“You don’t have to go to war to experience trauma. 1 in 5 sexually molested, 1 in 4 beaten by parents that left a mark on their body, 1 in 3 couples experienced physical violence. A quarter grew up with alcoholic parents, 1 out of 8 witnessed their mom being hit.” The Body Keeps Score

I continue to be amazed by the courage of those who are in search of finding solutions to their traumas. Fills my cup to help people find a direction, a path towards wholeness. Aloha
